Craig Barrett, former Intel CEO, critiques the current board's push to split the company and urges them to support Pat Gelsinger instead. Highlighting Gelsinger's successful turnaround of Intel since 2021, Barrett calls for unity rather than division to maintain semiconductor leadership in the U.S. After Gelsinger was recently ousted, Barrett believes firing the board could allow Gelsinger to complete his vision for the company and emphasize the importance of fostering development within Intel rather than promoting a split strategy.
If we want semiconductor manufacturing leadership in the US, then build on the current resurgence of Intel, don't tear it apart.
In my opinion, a far better move might be to fire the board and rehire Pat Gelsinger to finish the job he has aptly handled over the past few years.
