Electric Ireland will not be increasing prices for our electricity customers, despite the increases in network charges as recently announced by the CRU which would have resulted in an increase of €101 per annum.
Experts said the fact that Electric Ireland is absorbing the regulator-sanctioned rise in network charges has meant it was unable to reduce its unit rates further.
This will save households €45 a year on their electricity bills and €40 a year on their gas costs.
Executive director of Electric Ireland Pat Fenlon said the decreases continue the company's commitment to deliver value to its customers, while also supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy future.
