Caspar Lee shares his journey from being an early YouTube star to co-founding Creator Ventures, a venture capital fund that initially focused on consumer internet startups. Lee and his cousin Sasha Kaletsky capitalized on early investments like the eco-friendly deodorant brand Wild, which was sold to Unilever for £233 million, and AI audio company Eleven Labs, now valued at $3.3 billion. Creator Ventures' new $45 million fund will continue to invest heavily in consumer-facing companies, particularly those leveraging AI, as well as ventures in emerging trends like microdrama streaming apps.
There's a trillion dollars of spend that goes through the iOS and Android app stores every year, and if even a small proportion of that becomes taken by consumer AI apps, that's going to be a whole lot of unicorns.
In 2019, they formed Creator Ventures, a seed and pre-seed venture capital fund focused on consumer internet companies, launching now its second fund with $45 million.
