Ford is offering a free home Level 2 charger and installation to new customers of its Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, or E-Transit to promote EV sales.
This initiative aims to alleviate some costs associated with EV charging. The deal could benefit buyers significantly, given that a Ford Charge Station Pro typically costs over $1,300.
Despite this initiative, Ford's EV division is expected to encounter a $5.5 billion loss this year, highlighting deeper systemic challenges within its electric vehicle strategy.
While the free charger offer is a strategic move to lift sales, it may prove insufficient to resolve the ongoing struggles of Ford's EV business.
