Disney+ has begun to implement changes similar to Netflix's password-sharing crackdown, introducing charges for accounts shared beyond the primary household. This will cost around $60 a year.
The new system requires users to verify their account with a one-time passcode if they access Disney+ from outside their primary residence, mirroring practices already seen with other streaming services.
For users wishing to add an additional member to their Disney+ account, a separate profile must be purchased, costing $3.99 for 'Standard with Ads' and rising to $4.99 for 'Standard' or 'Premium' plans.
While sharing accounts will not incur immediate charges for existing users, Disney+ mandates that a separate profile must be purchased for any additional users outside of the primary household arrangement.
