Kelly Zong Fuli has been appointed as chairman of Hangzhou Wahaha Group, managing the beverage giant amidst significant challenges following her father's death and decreasing sales.
After her father's death in February, Zong aims to ensure Wahaha's stable development while facing internal disputes and a drastic sales decline of 35% since 2013.
Zong, who graduated from Pepperdine University, has been actively involved in marketing strategies targeting younger consumers, yet the company's sales have plummeted to 51.2 billion yuan in 2022.
As the only child of Wahaha's founder, Zong is part of a growing trend in China where heirs take on leadership roles in well-established private enterprises.
