US Surgeon General says that social media, like cigarettes, should come with warning labels

It is time to require a surgeon general's warning label on social media platforms, stating that social media is associated with significant mental health harms for adolescents... would regularly remind parents and adolescents that social media has not been proved safe.

In his latest op-ed, Murthy cited a study showing that higher social media use was associated with an increased risk for anxiety and depression, as well as a survey where almost half of teens reported that 'social media makes them feel worse about their bodies.'
