For 27-year-old Tanya Roberts, owning a home was not something she ever thought was in the picture for her.
"To put it bluntly, it's hard to trust white people who say that they can help you," she said. "I wanted to be optimistic, but at the same time, I was feeling like, 'Am I being naive? Am I being taken advantage of?'"
