Brentford FC has completed its first signing of the January transfer window by acquiring 20-year-old defender Michael Kayode on loan from Fiorentina for the remainder of the season. The deal includes an option for Brentford to make the transfer permanent in the summer. Kayode, an Italy Under-21 right-back, previously impressed at Gozzano and has made 12 appearances for Fiorentina this season. Brentford's director of football, Phil Giles, expressed confidence that Kayode will adapt well to the physical demands of the Premier League as they aim to improve their current 11th place standing.
Michael is a player that we think will suit Brentford and the physical nature of the Premier League very well," said Brentford director of football Phil Giles.
Kayode impressed at Italian fourth-tier side Gozzano to earn a move to Florence in 2021.
