Rivas on Hot Seat as Efforts to make CA Affordable Stall
Briefly

In response to concerns over California's high cost of living, Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas has launched initiatives aimed at improving affordability. Despite calls for rapid action and solutions addressing housing, fuel, and childcare costs, the Legislature has yet to show substantial progress. While Rivas announced four select committees to tackle these issues, they are not scheduled to meet until June, and specific proposals are still lacking. Advocates for economic justice voice concern over the slow pace, emphasizing the need for immediate action to alleviate financial pressures on Californians, especially renters.
