Protesters disrupt Larry Summers wealth tax Stanford speech
Briefly

Last week, a protest occurred during a Stanford University class featuring Larry Summers, a prominent economist and former president of Harvard University. The protesters, associated with Climate Defiance, interrupted Summers as he spoke against implementing a wealth tax, chanting slogans like "tax the rich" and labeling him as a 'climate criminal'. Stanford officials condemned the disruption, emphasizing the importance of allowing students to learn without interference and indicated measures, including potential bans for the protesters, were being considered to maintain campus order.
According to the student newspaper, The Stanford Daily, Summers was there to argue against a wealth tax, and seven protesters got onstage and chanted tax the rich.
Stanford president Jonathan Levin and provost Jenny Martinez said in the statement that the Department of Public Safety collected information from the disruptors and is referring the information to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.
