The Los Gatos Town Council has unanimously approved a 155-townhome development to replace the historic Los Gatos Lodge, with plans for 26 affordable homes and ample parking spaces. Vice Mayor Rob Moore expressed support due to the need for diverse housing options, noting his challenges as a renter in the town. While the townhome project includes pedestrian safety improvements, Mayor Matthew Hudes raised concerns regarding architectural design and traffic safety. SummerHill Homes chose not to use a state law allowing faster development in favor of cooperating with local officials, with construction set to start soon and model homes expected by 2027.
