One of America's last Chuck E. Cheese bands still plays in a SoCal strip mall
Briefly

Chuck E. Cheese, founded in 1977, was notable for its animatronic characters, inspired by Disneyland's attractions. However, the company faced decline leading to a 2020 bankruptcy. Now, most locations are undergoing rebranding, replacing these nostalgic figures with modern attractions. The Northridge location in California remains a unique exception, keeping the full animatronic experience. Alongside this, the chain has introduced a modernized menu and interactive features to appeal to a contemporary audience.
But first, some backstory: Founded in 1977, Chuck E. Cheese had animatronics at its very first location in San Jose.
In 2020, CEC Entertainment filed for bankruptcy and announced a major rebrand.
The same year, the chain also unveiled a grown-up menu with options like BBQ chicken pizza.
This particular location in northern Los Angeles is a holdout, one of only a handful of stores in the country.
