Amy's Kitchen closes Amy's Drive Thru at San Francisco airport
"After careful consideration, we've made the decision to close this location ... and concentrate on the areas of our business where we can have the greatest long-term impact."
"Amy's Kitchen manufactures and sells more than 260 products in retail outlets in the U.S. and abroad, and the decision to close all its restaurants will not impact operations at its corporate headquarters."
"The company laid off 300 workers in 2022 when it closed its San Jose factory, and more than 300 additional employees were laid off across two facilities in Santa Rosa two years later."
Amy's Kitchen has closed its last restaurant, Amy's Drive Thru, at San Francisco International Airport as of March 25. The company, known for vegetarian frozen foods, aims to concentrate on areas with greater long-term impact. This closure follows the earlier shutdown of its Rohnert Park drive-thru. Despite these closures, operations at its corporate headquarters in Petaluma remain unaffected. The company has faced significant layoffs in recent years, including 300 workers in 2022. The Melt will replace Amy's location at SFO this summer.
