Originally signed to provide defensive end depth opposite Nick Bosa, Ferrell emerged as a Week 1 starter for the 49ers, holding that position the whole season before suffering a knee injury that landed him on injured reserve in Week 18.
The No. 4 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft by the Raiders, Ferrell had 10 sacks in those four seasons with Las Vegas before departing for San Francisco in his first foray into unrestricted free agency.
