The San Francisco 49ers confirmed on Monday that wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk suffered a season-ending knee injury during their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Aiyuk pushed through a tumultuous summer filled with contract disputes and rumors of being traded before signing a lucrative four-year, $120 million extension.
The injury leaves the 49ers without another key offensive player, as they have already been missing star running back Christian McCaffrey this season.
With Aiyuk sidelined, the 49ers are set to lean heavily on Deebo Samuel and George Kittle to drive their passing game forward.
