On Saturday afternoon, deputies conducting a proactive patrol located human bones off Highway 330, an area recently impacted by the Line fire.
The bones were discovered on a hill below a large turnout near City Creek Road, and officials believe they have been present in the area for an extended period.
While the coroner's office is tasked with identifying the remains, investigators do not think the death is connected to the Line fire.
The sheriff's department encourages anyone with relevant information to reach out via phone or through their anonymous We Tip line.
