Roling Hernandez-Dezleiva, 27, faces a misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charge following a fatal crash where he ran a red light and drove excessively fast.
During a Nov. 19, 2023, incident, Hernandez-Dezleiva allegedly drove 57 mph in a 35 mph zone, resulting in the death of passenger Jennifer Jiminez.
Despite being charged, Hernandez-Dezleiva has been released pending trial with a stipulation from the judge to avoid new speeding violations.
Hernandez-Dezleiva's request for enrollment in a misdemeanor diversion program was denied, but the court may reconsider the decision in the future.
