Firefighters were called to the scene of a two-alarm fire at a vacant restaurant in downtown San Jose early Thursday morning, managing to extinguish the flames quickly.
No injuries or displacements occurred due to the fire at the vacant Bo Town Seafood restaurant, which has been closed since 2019, and the cause is currently under investigation.
The building, acquired by Urban Community in July 2019, was slated for development into a residential tower while retaining the historic Bo Town Seafood structure as part of its design.
Traffic in the vicinity of S. 2nd Street and E. San Salvador Street was disrupted as fire officials worked to manage the two-alarm blaze that jarred the downtown area.
