Announcing EFF's New Exhibit on Border Surveillance and Accompanying Events
Briefly

EFF's traveling exhibit, "Border Surveillance: Places, People, and Technology," will debut at the Angel Island Immigration Station from April 2 to May 28, 2025. This exhibit showcases extensive research conducted by EFF on the growing surveillance technologies at the U.S.-Mexico border. Over the years, EFF has created an open-source map documenting this technology while advocating for privacy rights. The selection of Angel Island as the launch site is symbolically significant due to its historical context as a detention center for many immigrants, providing a powerful backdrop for discussions on surveillance and civil rights.
The exhibition is designed to educate the public about the extensive surveillance technologies at the U.S.-Mexico border, illuminating the implications for privacy and civil liberties.
We hope this traveling exhibit will be a way for us to share information amassed over years of documenting border surveillance technology and its impacts.
