Authorities identify double homicide victims in Santa Cruz Mountains
Briefly

Authorities in Santa Clara County have identified two men found dead in an abandoned truck in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Colter White, 53, was shot multiple times, while Sean Pfeffer, 45, sustained a fatal chest wound. Both victims were discovered on March 24 near Skyline Boulevard and are believed to have known each other. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident as a homicide and has stated there is no ongoing threat to the public, although details about potential suspects remain undisclosed.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office confirmed the decedents are 53-year-old Colter White and 45-year-old Sean Pfeffer, both of Boulder Creek. White died from gunshot wounds to the torso and left upper and lower extremities, while Pfeffer was killed by a gunshot wound to the left chest.
The bodies of White and Pfeffer were discovered around 6:50 p.m. March 24 at a pullout on the east side of Skyline Boulevard near Oak Ridge Road, which is about three miles south of Castle Rock State Park.
While I am unable to provide specific information regarding the investigation at this time, I can say that this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
It appears Pfeffer and White knew each other, as Pfeffer referred to White as a friend in a Facebook post from last July depicting a shed White had been building.
