Staple Berkeley Grocery Store Market Hall Foods to Close After Nearly Three Decades

The store held down a corner location on Fourth Street for more than two decades, opening in 1996 and selling deli food, cheese, pasta, and other pantry goods.

All of us in the leadership group have come to believe that we will have more options for success by concentrating on our flagship store at Rockridge Market Hall.

Making the decision to close the store has taken much discussion and sometimes emotional deliberation.
