The Ferry Building will welcome Lucania, a new southern Italian restaurant from the owners of A16, taking over the space left vacant by MarketBar since April 2020. Spanning nearly 3,000 square feet, Lucania will feature a full-service restaurant offering seafood, pizza, and pasta, with an outdoor patio on the Embarcadero promenade. The restaurant aims to provide an authentic Italian dining experience inspired by South Italian traditions. It is expected to open mid-to-late 2026 and will cater to customers from morning to evening.
"What began as an Italian holiday food basket pop-up during the early days of COVID has evolved into a permanent space rooted in everything we care about: community, hospitality, and honest, seasonal cooking."
"Lucania brings together nearly three decades of experience in San Francisco's food and wine world, inspired by the traditions of Southern Italy and the rhythm of life here in the city."
