How Can We Fast for Ramadan in Gaza When We Were Already Starving?
Briefly

Displaced Palestinian families in Gaza face extreme challenges during Ramadan, recalling the previous year's dire circumstances marked by starvation and death. Due to the Israeli blockade, humanitarian aid became scarce, forcing families to resort to grinding animal feed to bake bread. Many children risk their lives for a chance to obtain basic necessities like flour, which has become a precious resource. Despite their struggles, the hope for a fulfilling Ramadan remains overshadowed by hunger and despair, illustrating the dire humanitarian situation in the region.
Starvation drove many, including children, to risk their lives by venturing to the Kuwait and Nabulsi corridors, hoping to intercept humanitarian aid trucks.
Our only prayer was that this Ramadan would be different from the last one - a month marked by starvation and death.
Most families, including mine, had no choice but to grind animal feed into flour to bake bread for iftar, filled with sand and unbearable.
We would finish iftar still hungry, dreaming of the delicious food and Arabic desserts that once adorned our Ramadan table.
