"We love how downtown SF is accessible whether you're driving or taking public transportation," Han told SFGATE. "Growing up in the Bay, Market Street was the place to be whenever hanging in the city, so I'm excited to be a part of a space that's trying to bring some of that old market life back."
Donado is an industry veteran who spent four years at Los Angeles' Petit Trois under world-famous chef Ludo Lefebvre, where he mastered his fine-dining cooking techniques. And yet, he's still a lover of Big Mac burgers from McDonalds, which he grew up eating.
Smish Smash is the perfect convergence of high brow and low brow - high-quality meat from Cream Co. Meats and old-school, nostalgic flavors from Donado's childhood.
The opening menu will include most of the more than a dozen signature burgers fans know and love, such as "The Cheeseboiga," "Wow," "The O.G.," "Classic" and "The Reggie Miller," according to Han; specials, such as the "Dac Biet" burger, which mimics the flavors of Vietnamese pho, will rotate in and out.
