A trans man who's changed hearts and minds in the South takes his work nationwide at the helm of GenderCool
Briefly

Chase Glenn, a prominent LGBTQ+ advocate and former executive director of the Alliance for Full Acceptance, is the new executive director for the GenderCool Project. He succeeds Jen Grosshandler, who co-founded the organization aimed at sharing positive narratives about transgender and nonbinary individuals. GenderCool originated from the Grosshandlers' desire for better media representation after their daughter came out as trans. Glenn's commitment to the mission aligns with the organization's focus on storytelling, which he believes is powerful in effecting change in people's perceptions and lives.
"GenderCool is such a unique organization in that it is so purely focused on storytelling," he says. "I have seen the power of storytelling, how it can change people."
The result: "We're welcoming and extraordinary person, a proud trans man, who will lead GenderCool at this critical time in history," she says.
When we launched GenderCool and I became executive director, I said to myself I'm going to do this until it's time for me to step to the side," Jen Grosshandler says.
The impetus for the founding of GenderCool was when the Grosshandlers' daughter, Chazzie, came out as trans in 2017.
