Istria 100 by UTMB in Croatia attracted 2,000 runners for its 168km race with significant elevation gain. The event emerged in 2013 as '100 Miles of Istria'.
Patagonia Run featured tight competition in the 100 miler with a 17-minute gap between the top three men after 20 hours of running. Women's leadership was also closely contested.
Paris Marathon showcased Mathias Kyburz's strong performance, finishing seventh after placing twelfth in the previous year's Sierre-Zinal. The event presented a different challenge from his orienteering background.
