Colby Simmons, a U23 rider, is competing in the US Gravel National Championships to prepare for the upcoming Road World Championships, seeking to gain race experience.
Simmons remarked, 'I expect myself to do well, but obviously, it's a bit different than road racing. It's exciting to do something a little different for sure.'
He explained his decision to race Gravel Nationals, stating, 'I had a pretty big block of no racing... So that was a big part of them letting me go back home for an altitude camp.'
Simmons shares his excitement, saying, 'I've never done a gravel race... I'm pretty interested to see how it will go.'
