Never-seen-before CCTV footage shows “reckless” pedestrians missing being hit by a train by seconds at Network Rail's Sussex route level crossings, with 194 misuse incidents and 29 near misses recorded over the last year.
Sam Pead, Network Rail's Southern region level crossing manager, warned about the dangers, stating, “Across the Southern region trains can travel up to 140mph and are largely powered by the third rail carrying enough electricity to kill or seriously injure.”
