As discussions about return-to-office (RTO) mandates continue, remote work remains a viable option with notable benefits, including improved work-life balance, as reported by over half of remote workers. Despite these advantages, leaders are pushing for RTO, impacting employee well-being. A Gallup survey suggests a significant decrease in fully in-office work from 62% to 34% since the pandemic, with many employees expressing stress and dissatisfaction upon returning. Notably, a substantial percentage suffer from decreased motivation and perceive adverse effects on their work-life balance, resulting in high employee turnover due to rigid RTO policies.
More than half of remote employees reported improvements in work-life balance, adhering to regular schedules while significantly increasing their focused work time compared to office workers.
Despite the benefits of remote work, leaders are still pushing for return-to-office mandates, leading to mixed effects on employee well-being and increased turnover.
