Optum is laying off 525 people in Southern California across 14 locations but did not provide a reason for the job cuts. The terminations include various healthcare roles such as nurses, physicians, and medical assistants.
The layoffs will occur in eight waves starting in September 2021 and ending in January 2025. Although no severance pay is mentioned, Optum stated they might shift affected employees to available positions within the company.
