Effective July 1, 2024, all California employers are required to have a written Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) and train employees accordingly with no grace period.
California's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal-OSHA) will enforce the Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) requirements, despite the standards being finalized in December 2025, posing challenges for employers to interpret and comply.
