Bosses cracking down on 'hushed hybrid' working, new study finds
Briefly

A recent study by CIPD indicates that senior executives are increasingly implementing centralized blended working policies, restricting local managers from making individual arrangements. This shift aims for uniformity across the workforce as the government reviews its hybrid work policies. The report found a 10% increase in organizations dictating hybrid working arrangements from a central level. Mary Connaughton, CIPD in Ireland director, warned that such 'hushed hybrid' policies may lead to employee dissatisfaction and inequalities, stressing the need for managers to effectively communicate the rationale behind these policies and address employee concerns.
"However this can provoke dissatisfaction and even conflict among employees where some groups have to follow company policy more closely," said Mary Connaughton, CIPD in Ireland director.
A CIPD survey last year showed there were far more public servants than private sector workers working two days on site, highlighting differences in workplace dynamics.
