CHLA urges CFPB action on dual compensation arrangements

The Community Home Lenders of America (CHLA) sent a letter on Thursday to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) that urges the agency to adopt and implement a series of rules to protect homebuyers from so-called dual compensation arrangements during the homebuying process.Dual compensation refers to an instance in which a single individual or entity is in control of both brokerage and loan origination functions and are compensated for real estate transactions in which they represent the buyer or the seller and act as the originator on the mortgage loan used to purchase the home.
