Real Madrid academy product César Palacios suffered a torn ACL during the club's preseason U.S. tour, prompting his return to Spain for surgery.
Palacios, considered one of Real Madrid's most promising prospects, was injured just five minutes into his first-team debut against AC Milan.
In addition to Palacios, another player, Álvaro Rodríguez, suffered an ankle sprain in the same match. Madrid's medical staff is assessing whether to send him back to Spain.
