Forty-one million Americans live alone, report suggests

A report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published today estimated that 37.9million Americans were living alone in 2022, up 4.8million - 13 percent - from the numbers in 2012.
The report warned there was an 'increased risk of adverse mental health' for those living alone - adding that people living alone were 64 percent more likely to have symptoms of depression than those who live with others.
