The Safety Investigation Authority of Finland (Otkes) is making substantial progress in the investigation of a data breach that impacted the City of Helsinki last spring, managing to collect over 90% of the implicated data.
The breach, which was initially disclosed by the City of Helsinki in spring, has revealed that the stolen data encompassed personal information of approximately 150,000 school children and their guardians, alongside data from all 38,000 city employees.
Hanna Tiirinki, the head of the investigation team at Otkes, reported that the breach's scale has expanded, with current assessments indicating it affects data pertaining to around 300,000 individuals.
