"Transparency is at the core of what we do at X," a spokesperson said. "As an entirely new company, we took time to rethink how best to transparently share data related to the enforcement of the policies that keep our community safe." This statement reflects X's commitment to improving communication regarding their content policies and enforcement actions.
X received more than 224 million user reports between January and June of this year, with nearly 82 million focused on abuse and harassment...5.3 million accounts were suspended, and 10.7 million posts were removed or labeled... However, the report noted that the overall rate of posts that violated X's rules was just 0.01 percent.
After Musk acquired the platform, he rolled back content moderation rules, reinstated previously banned accounts, and shifted the platform's verification system to a paid service. His changes quickly faced pushback, as outside groups noted an uptick in hate speech shortly after his takeover.
X's content moderation practices faced scrutiny last November when ads for mainstream brands appeared alongside pro-Nazi and white nationalist content, raising concerns about the impact of Musk's policies on the platform's integrity.
