Labour DWP secretary Liz Kendall emphasized that the changes in the definition of social support allow for more comprehensive assessments, likely benefiting many claimants who require assistance in social situations.
PIP is now evaluated by a points system, where claimants who need prompting from trained individuals for face-to-face engagement are awarded higher points, increasing their potential payments.
