The Atlas of Surveillance currently captures more than 11,700 deployments of surveillance tech and remains the most comprehensive database of its kind.
We started off with a big change: the removal of our set of Amazon Ring relationships with local police... tracking Ring relationships in the Atlas no longer served its purpose.
In 2024, we added an important growing category of police technology: the third-party investigative platform (TPIP), which pulls data from other sources and shares it with law enforcement.
Our team has been busily adding new spyware and equipment to this database as the police surveillance industry has shifted, expanded, and doubled down on its efforts.
