John Powers Middleton's properties in Los Angeles have become neglected symbols of decay, drawing ire from local officials and heartache from the community after widespread vandalism.
"It's tragic," said Alexander Gorbis, describing the condition of Middleton's Sunset Plaza mansion. "I [virtually] grew up in that house. To see how it is now is just beyond words."
Councilmember Nithya Raman criticized Middleton for his "egregious violation of the law" regarding property maintenance, emphasizing the urgent need for responsible ownership in the affluent neighborhood.
