Newly Introduced Bill Would Give Full Funding to "Rip and Replace" Program
Briefly

Representative August Pfluger introduced the 'Supporting National Security with Spectrum Act' to fully fund a $3 billion shortfall in the Rip and Replace program, aiming to enhance U.S. communications security.
'There are over 6,000 sites across the United States in need of this funding, 341 of which are in Texas alone,' Pfluger emphasized the urgency of addressing the Ripple and Replace needs for national security.
'The Supporting National Security with Spectrum Act is vital to our national security and to ensure rural communities do not lose access to basic connectivity... Rural and remote areas [could] be hit the hardest as networks could shut down,' suggested Pfluger, underscoring the potential impact on critical communication services.
