Met Police won't name officer who groomed child as it would breach his human rights
Briefly

An ex-Met Police officer, convicted of possessing child abuse images and sexual communication with a minor, will remain unnamed due to human rights considerations.
At the misconduct hearing, it was concluded that revealing the officer's identity would breach his right to life under Article 2 of the European Convention of Human Rights.
Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor stated, 'There is evidence of a real and immediate threat to former police-officer X's life' leading to the decision for anonymity.
The misconduct hearing determined that while the officer would have been dismissed for his actions, naming him would infringe upon his mental health rights.
