Outta Sight Pizza, led by head chef Sean Sieling, has carved out a successful niche in the Tenderloin neighborhood since opening in 2023. Famous for its pizzas, the restaurant caters to both local patrons and federal employees, experiencing a steady stream of customers even after the pandemic's impact. Co-founder Peter Dorrance reflects on their strategic decision to open in a high-traffic area, confident in the crowds they'll attract. Amid bustling business, they emphasize the importance of providing every customer with the same level of quality service and food, regardless of the time they visit.
"We feel a lot of responsibility for everybody that gets into line, to provide them the same experience whether they're here at 11 o'clock when we open, or 9 o'clock when we're saying, 'Hey, we're closing,'" Sieling said. "Everybody deserves the same slice of pizza or the same sandwich."
"When we first opened up the Tenderloin location, the common remark was, 'Why would you open up there?' And it would just make us so mad, like, why wouldn't we?" Dorrance said. "There's no place in the city that is going to have that much foot traffic."
