The Pittsburgh Steelers made the unsurprising move this offseason to release veteran center Mason Cole after his third NFL season.
The move cleared extra $4.75 million in cap space for the Steelers but left a massive hole in the center position on the depth chart.
Currently, the Steelers do not have a true center under contract, and the free agent market for experienced centers is dried up.
It might be beneficial for the Steelers to bring back Cole as an insurance policy due to lack of options in free agency.
