A new large-scale study published in Sexual Medicine found that men of all sexual orientations reported higher orgasm rates during sex (70-85%) compared to women (46-58%) across all ages.
Lesbian and bisexual women aged 35-49 reported higher orgasm rates than their heterosexual counterparts. The research included data from eight surveys conducted by Match.com in collaboration with the Kinsey Institute.
Despite expectations that the orgasm gap would decrease with age due to confidence and self-discovery, the study found no evidence of this reduction, highlighting a societal prioritization of male pleasure over female sexual satisfaction.
Researchers hope future studies will delve deeper into the relationship between age and orgasm, shedding light on the persistent orgasm gap across genders.
