Two girls fell in love at a camp for troubled teens' and made an audacious escape. Their captors weren't far behind
Briefly

The Re-Creation Retreat (RCR) is a therapeutic center for girls facing behavioral issues, with a regimented hierarchy where initial restrictions are stringent. Upon arrival, girls start at level one, unable to communicate freely or engage with their environment. Over time, they can ascend through levels by demonstrating positive behavior. Cassia Cilento, who arrived at RCR during a tumultuous part of her adolescence, felt dehumanized by the program's structure, which limited personal expression and communication, creating an experience akin to imprisonment without having committed a crime.
Girls who arrive at R-C-R begin at level one, where they face strict restrictions including not being allowed to communicate or make eye contact with others.
With each level girls can earn privileges, but every attempt to communicate with outsiders risks a demotion back to level one.
