How Election Anxiety Impacts Children
Briefly

As a child psychologist, I see phenomena through the lens of children. Children are products of their genetics and their environment. When parents are anxious and express fear about uncertain life events, their children internalize their parents' concerns, with little understanding.
People from different walks of life and with a variety of presenting problems described feeling burdened by an abyss of uncertainty that weighs heavily on their minds and in their hearts.
We can only control what we can control. We are each given the opportunity to vote and while we have the right to do that, we must also accept the results.
Beyond focusing on what we can control, we have to focus on being an accepting loser. Our children copy our behavior, including how we respond to the outcome of the election.
