This shift means moving away from pre-defined courses to dynamic, adaptive learning pathways that emphasize performance-based evaluations over traditional quizzes. As technology advances, the future of learning will be a fluid ecosystem where learners receive information precisely when needed, fundamentally transforming how education is approached in the workplace.
Instead of designing pre-defined courses, Instructional Designers need to deliver curated, real-time, contextual learning based on an employee's role, past learning behavior, and emerging industry trends.
Learning won't be about taking a structured course; instead, it will be a continuous, embedded process where learners are "nudged" with the right information at the right time.
Employees will not follow a set curriculum but will want their own personalized pathways that adapt as they learn, making formal instructional roadmaps obsolete.
With Artificial Intelligence tracking behaviors, quizzes and tests will no longer be necessary. Evaluation will be based on performance rather than on final quiz scores.
