World Water Film Festival Makes a Splash at Columbia Climate School
Briefly

Robert Strand, executive director of the nonprofit festival, said his dream when he created the World Water Film Festival in 2022 was to "one day have filmmakers, policymakers and scientists on stage together to talk about important topics"-a dream that has now become a reality.
Matthew Modine stated during the screening of his short film, 'Ripple Effect,' that 'Water is the most important thing on our planet. When we go looking for life on other planets, water is the first thing we look for.'
Modine’s narrative in the film emphasizes the collective action needed to combat climate challenges: 'If one person takes action, it will seem insignificant, a mere ripple. But if 7 billion people take action, that ripple becomes a powerful wave.'
The festival addressed significant challenges and prospects in humanity's relationship with water, featuring films and workshops on topics like plastic pollution and grey water recycling.
